What Post-Physical-Therapy Coaching Is Not

Post-Physical-Therapy Coaching is not:

Physical therapy
Physiotherapy
Rehabilitation
Medical treatment
Injury treatment
Injury diagnosis
Medical diagnosis
A physical-therapy evaluation
A substitute for physical therapy
A substitute for medical care
A substitute for professional rehabilitation services

Healthcare Provider Recommendations Come First

Clients are expected to follow the recommendations, restrictions, precautions, and instructions provided by their physician, physical therapist, or other qualified healthcare professional.

CreatALifestyle coaching does not override or replace those recommendations. If there is a conflict between a healthcare professional's instructions and a coaching suggestion, the healthcare professional's instructions should take precedence.

Clients should discuss appropriate activity levels and exercise progression with their healthcare professional when necessary.

Completion or Release From Physical Therapy

Before participating in Post-Physical-Therapy Coaching, clients should have appropriately completed or been released from the formal physical-therapy process when applicable.

If a healthcare professional has instructed a client to continue physical therapy, rehabilitation, medical treatment, or specific restrictions, the client should follow those instructions.

CreatALifestyle may request clarification from the client regarding applicable activity restrictions or recommendations. CreatALifestyle does not independently determine whether a client is medically ready for exercise.

Client Responsibility

Clients are responsible for communicating relevant information regarding their health, injuries, limitations, restrictions, and healthcare recommendations.

Clients should not participate in activities that their healthcare professionals have advised them to avoid.

Clients should immediately communicate any concerning symptoms or changes in their condition to an appropriate healthcare professional.

When to Stop and Seek Professional Care

Clients should stop an activity and seek appropriate professional medical guidance if they experience concerning symptoms such as:

  • Chest pain
  • Severe shortness of breath
  • Fainting
  • Severe dizziness
  • Sudden or unusual pain
  • Significant swelling
  • New or worsening weakness
  • Loss of coordination
  • Numbness or other concerning symptoms
  • Any symptom that causes significant concern

In a medical emergency, seek emergency medical assistance immediately.

Individualized Approach

Your starting point is your starting point.

CreatALifestyle recognizes that every recovery journey is different. Coaching may take into consideration:

  • Current abilities
  • Personal goals
  • Exercise experience
  • Lifestyle
  • Preferences
  • Confidence
  • Motivation
  • Healthcare recommendations
  • Known limitations
  • Available resources

However, consideration of these factors does not constitute medical evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment.
